WHY THE BEATIFICATION CAUSE BEGAN?

In 1987, when Father Alfredo Vizozo MSPS visited Monterrey invited by His Eminence Adolfo Suárez Rivera, Archbishop of Monterrey, to orient the works for the introduction of the causes of Father Juan José Hinojosa and Mons. Guillermo Trischler, asked to whom was dedicated the monument of the garden of the cathedral and the reason whyit was there.

Father Carlos Alvarez answered those questions, emphasizing that although Father Raymundo Jardón Herrera had died in 1934, he was a priest venerated by the people and in his tomb have not been needed fresh flowers and permanent lights since then, due to grateful souls that deposit them because the favors that God grants them thru his intercession.

When naming the commissions for the postulations of the causes Father Alvarez was asked to be in charge of the one for Father Jardón.

On August 15, 1987 the His Eminence Adolfo Suárez Rivera, Archbishop of Monterrey, sends an edict to constítute the Court of the Cause of Canonization of Father Jardón.

From Rome, the Congregation for the causes of Beatifications and Canonizations sent to His Eminence Adolfo Suárez Rivera, sent a communícation dated February 27, 1991 that authorizes the introductíon of the Cause of the Servant of God, Raymundo Jardón Herrera, Presbítero Diocesano, died in sanctity scent on January 6, 1934.

In May 1991 began the interrogations to 24 witnesses requested previously to go before the Court, and on November 6,1994, took place the closing of the Diocesan Process in a solemn ceremony that took place in Santa Iglesia Cathedral, presided over by His Eminence Alfonso Hinojosa Berrones, Auxiliary Bishop of Monterrey. The documentation was given to Monsignor Oscar Sanchez Beard, named postulator of the cause in Rome, who took it to this city for its study and approval.

As soon as the Congregation of the Cause of the Saints approves that documentation, the Servant of God, Raymundo Jardón Herrera will become to be Venerable. Later only by means of a first degree miracle that God grants by his intercession, that could be a complete treatment, immediate and permanent, medically certified like so, Father Jardón would be beatified. For that reason it is necessary that when notifying us some favor that fills these requirements, also give us the medical papers that verify the case.

Ali of us hope that the Church will soon grant the honor to Father Raymundo Father of being at the the altars.

At the moment the Vice-Postulator of the cause is Mr. Pbro. Lic. Jorge Rodríguez Moya, who replaced the Pbro. Carlos Alvarez Ortíz who died in January 1996

THE CAUSE OF BEATIFICATION
In order to initiate the cause of beatification of priest Raymundo Jardón, the basis was indeed the sanctity fame that the Christian people began to proclaim as uncontrollable from the same moment of his funeral although, while still alive, God granted to this Servant of God some extraordinary manifestations in relation with diverse acts that always were inspired by the charity.
The sacerdotal profile of Father Jardón corresponded exactly to these council signals. The postulator of his cause, Pbro. Carlos Alvarez, in the conmemoration of the Centenary of the birth of Father Jardón, stated " ... one appeared to the Lord with his anointed hands full of the most precious gifts: gold, incense and myrrh, like in the first Epiphany. His heart had been a voleano of love to the Lord and his resemblances, particularly the poor men ... His lips had been springs of wisdom and peace, that had sung fervently the praises of God and had elevated the souls to God like the richest incense. His exemplary life rendered the day a holy one, had felt the stamp of the pain and the Crass ... Being according to the world, a poor, small and ignorant man, he had an excellent influence in our commünity. Monterrey received his example, a full life of charity, humility and spirit of service for the benefit of his Holy Church".

The heroies of the faith and the love to Christ is more obvious in the martyrs; after hours or days of anguish and tortures they give their lives, the greatest good they have, because of the Gospel. Their love to Christ can hardly be clearer or stronger, "nobody has greater love than who gives his LIfe for his friends" (Jn. 15,13), But there are other sanctity heroes not less generous. They are those that keep faithfully and silently a promise, also moved by a great love to Christ, an always alive and inereasing love. This was the way chosen by Father Jardón, in his pursuit of Christ. His life, every day, was a clear test of his total acceptance of the will of The Lord, very especially when it was the good ofthe souls and the poor men and children who suffered in their ill and marginalized bodies.

The fame of sanctity of Father Jardón takes to us to meditate in that "daily miracle" of the fresh flowers in his tomb, in the Carmen Pantheon. After fifty and five years of his death, the living witnesses are only a few ones who received the beneficent influx of his priesthood

The majority of that people who now visit his tomb are members of families that some way received the tradition of a holy priest who still accompanies them from the heaven in their journey of Christian life. Father Alvarez, during the homily of one of the masses of the First Suday in Cathedral, when is specially prayed for the cause of beatification of the servant of God, said: " ...the people has a singular instinet to discover the track of God, they are the simple clusters of flowers thatevery day arrive at the humble tomb of Father Jardón. Voice of the people is also the permanent lights that grateful souls turn on in the humble tomb. The voice of the people was the touching tribute of Monterrey during the commemoration of its Centenary, that filled the Cathedral as if Father Jardón was summoning to one of his Holy Hours. Voice of the people is the parade of people who marches in front of his tomb and proclaims him as people's saint. And, "the voice ofthe people is the voice of God ".
